Does anybody know if it is possible to download a SUBSET only of a given SRA run from NCBI ?
This would be a handy workaround if one wants to evaluate several runs before actually downloading (entirely) a few to use.
Selecting reads as interval (from XXX.10000 to XXX.20000) would be ok, an evenly spaced or random set (.10, .20, .30, ...) would be preferable, programmatically would be awsome.
(I know you can subsample after downloading the entire run, but I'd rather NOT download the entire run, nor reads one by one using filters)
thanks
