  • Fix syntax error during Roche DataAnalysis_2.7 install

    Dear all,

    Some time ago, I have been happy to find how to fix the error (this post)
    Code:
    sh: /sbin/lspci: not found
    when installating the Roche Data Analysis softwares in Ubuntu.

    This might still be useful but I got a new error during the installation of the Data Analysis 2.7 version:
    Code:
    /tmp/selfgz111829748/files_extra//installRpm.sh: 12:
    /tmp/selfgz111829748/files_extra//installRpm.sh: Syntax error: "(" unexpected
    I share with you the way I managed to install it:

    Run the install:
    Code:
    sudo ./setup.sh
    do not proceed with the next button and leave the window opened!!

    In the the installRpm.sh file generated by the install script in your fodler:
    Code:
    /tmp/selfgxxxxxxxxxxx/files_extra/
    As root, change the header line
    Code:
    #!/bin/sh
    into
    Code:
    #!/bin/bash
    Save and close, then go on with the opened installation window. It worked for me and I hope it will help at least some of you.

    Thanks a lot! It works on Newbler 2.9.

    Here's what happened. I installed the required packages according to http://www.biongenex.com/technical-n...debian-64-bit/ and tried jvhaarst's solution on http://seqanswers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=8944. I was able to run gsAssembler, however, I can't upload SFF/FASTQ/FASTA files on the GUI!

    Something must be wrong with my initial installation. I tried "sudo ln -s /bin/true /bin/rocks". When I run setup.sh, I get an error message "could not execute command:type rocks 2>&1" and "installing jre failed". I installed Openjdk previously so there shouldn't be a problem with jre. Finally, I tried your method and it works!

      Essential Discoveries and Tools in Epitranscriptomics
      by seqadmin

      The field of epigenetics has traditionally concentrated more on DNA and how changes like methylation and phosphorylation of histones impact gene expression and regulation. However, our increased understanding of RNA modifications and their importance in cellular processes has led to a rise in epitranscriptomics research. “Epitranscriptomics brings together the concepts of epigenetics and gene expression,” explained Adrien Leger, PhD, Principal Research Scientist on Modified Bases...

      Current Approaches to Protein Sequencing
      by seqadmin

      Proteins are often described as the workhorses of the cell, and identifying their sequences is key to understanding their role in biological processes and disease. Currently, the most common technique used to determine protein sequences is mass spectrometry. While still a valuable tool, mass spectrometry faces several limitations and requires a highly experienced scientist familiar with the equipment to operate it. Additionally, other proteomic methods, like affinity assays, are constrained...
