  • Commercial software help?

    Hi,
I have some limited budget that I have to spend for a software this month (~1000$) and I'm stuck to CLC Main WB or Geneious and both of them have cons: clc MWB does not do NGS but can use it for expression analysis for already count reads numbers; and Geneious was totally crashing when I tested it or says not enough RAM (I was using Mac with 8GB) with some samples not so big files.

So I was wondering do you know any useful software that can be fit into this budget?

    PS
I see there is DNAnexus but probably I prefer something stand-alone...

    HandsFree

You may want to look at a system called HandsFree (http://cm.jefferson.edu/HandsFreee) that gives the ability to analyze the large datasets that next generation sequencing platforms generate. From a quick look at their website it can map and analyze RNA-Seq, Exome-seq, DNA-seq, and ChIP-Seq data

      Strategies for Sequencing Challenging Samples
      by seqadmin

Despite advancements in sequencing platforms and related sample preparation technologies, certain sample types continue to present significant challenges that can compromise sequencing results. Pedro Echave, Senior Manager of the Global Business Segment at Revvity, explained that the success of a sequencing experiment ultimately depends on the amount and integrity of the nucleic acid template (RNA or DNA) obtained from a sample. “The better the quality of the nucleic acid isolated...
