  • NGS Workshop at the European Bioinformatics Institute (Hinxton, UK)

    Dear colleagues,

We will be hosting a workshop on NGS tools next month (6-8 October) and we still have some seats available. You can have a look at the programme here:

We train scientists at all levels to get the most out of publicly available biological data.

    Regards,

    Dear Xose,

I was wondering if there'll be any schedule in hosting a new "workshop on NGS tools" for 2011.

    Regards

We are indeed, in fact we are working on the agenda for a similar workshop 16-18 March and possibly another one later (16-18 October). We haven't advertised as we don't have a finished programme for the first one, but we should open registration for the first one next month.
      I hope this helps,
      Xose

I'm afraid this post is over a year old, the original one was from 2010. You should check the EBI website for updates as there might be new workshops.

            Current Approaches to Protein Sequencing
            by seqadmin

Proteins are often described as the workhorses of the cell, and identifying their sequences is key to understanding their role in biological processes and disease. Currently, the most common technique used to determine protein sequences is mass spectrometry. While still a valuable tool, mass spectrometry faces several limitations and requires a highly experienced scientist familiar with the equipment to operate it. Additionally, other proteomic methods, like affinity assays, are constrained...

            Strategies for Sequencing Challenging Samples
            by seqadmin

Despite advancements in sequencing platforms and related sample preparation technologies, certain sample types continue to present significant challenges that can compromise sequencing results. Pedro Echave, Senior Manager of the Global Business Segment at Revvity, explained that the success of a sequencing experiment ultimately depends on the amount and integrity of the nucleic acid template (RNA or DNA) obtained from a sample. “The better the quality of the nucleic acid isolated...
