  • Illumina now shipping all MiSeq v1 chemistry with v2 box2 of 2?

Just noticed this morning that we have 4 remaining v1 chemistry reagent packs (box 1 of 2) but at 4 oC we have only 2 remaining v1 boxes -- these include the flow cell and the PR2 bottle.

Illumina tech support seems a little uncertain, but claims that there should be no difference between Miseq v1 and v2 box2 of 2 reagents. So, apparently some of the v1 chemistry reagent kits we were shipped with v2 box 2 of 2 reagents.

Also tech support says the reagent cassette RFID is "dominant" over the flow cell RFID so the v1 reagent cassettes (the -20 oC box 1 of 2) will specify v1 conditions for the run.

Flow cell part numbers are the same for V1 and V2. I can't say for 100% that the pr2 is the same, but I believe it is also.

Any one figure out how to hack the RFIDs? Thinking of pooling the scraps of runs which fail to cluster.

        Strategies for Sequencing Challenging Samples
        by seqadmin

Despite advancements in sequencing platforms and related sample preparation technologies, certain sample types continue to present significant challenges that can compromise sequencing results. Pedro Echave, Senior Manager of the Global Business Segment at Revvity, explained that the success of a sequencing experiment ultimately depends on the amount and integrity of the nucleic acid template (RNA or DNA) obtained from a sample. “The better the quality of the nucleic acid isolated...
