I am a scientist working on 3rd gen nanopore sequencing technology. I work on mostly the upstream biochemistry, but as of late I have been dealing with novel technologies, instrumentation, and IP as well. Right now I am working on assembling metrics on both 2nd gen and 3rd gen sequencing to see that task ahead. With these emerging technologies it is amazing to see how much out there is just smoke and mirrors. This site is great for looking behind the curtain. Hopefully more "truthiness" and sharing that this site fosters will help this industry mature to a point where true advancements can be made for the people not the pockets.
