Default 4% agarose gels?

I was just wandering whether sopmebody have used 4% agarose gels instead of 2% for preparation of genomic or mRNA Illumina libraries.

I've been doing my size selection step with a 3% gel...seems to be working fine. I typically run it at 80v for 2 hours for good separation.
