Default Second-strand cDNA synthesis question

Anyone know what bad thing happens if Truseq RNA samples are left to sit in the thermal cycler for a few hours after second-strand cDNA synthesis, rather than proceeding immediately to cleanup? I can't figure out why it's necessary to clean up immediately.
