Hello,
I have a curiosity:the emulsion Pcr in Ion Torrent or in 454 Roche takes place inside the instrument as the bridge pcr in Illumina platforms or it happens outside the machine and then I load manually the bead with the amplified fragments into the chip that I’ll put in the machine? Thank you very much!! |

Ciao Chiara! Ion Torrent's emulsion PCR takes place outside the sequencer. You can either perform it on the OneTouch2 device (and then purify the beads on the ES2) or automatically on the Ion Chef.
If you use an Ion Chef, chip loading is also performed automatically. You basically set up the hour (usually in the morning) at which you want the chips to be ready with the beads, and let it work overnight. |
