  • Custom TruSeq-equivalent WGS library preps, for high number of smal genomes

Does anyone have experience with custom high troughput "TruSeq-equivalent WGS library preps"?

Normal TruSeq library prep costs around somewhere between $300 to $150 per sample. Some providers offer custom high troughput"TruSeq-equivalent WGS library preps" for 48 or 96 sample plates at a cost of around $60 per sample.

Especially for small genomes (smaller than 3Gb, or even smaller than 1Gb), library prep is a big part of the total cost. So it would be interesting to know if these custom protocols give equivalent results.

Does anyone have experience with these custom "TruSeq-equivalent WGS library preps"? Or know a recent review paper?

    Who is advertising this?
Hard to tell what it means - there are soo many different library prep chemistry options.

      Ah ok.

It is listed on the Cornell price list website under "High-throughput Library preparation for Illumina Sequencing":

Is there a good recent overview/review of what currently the library prep options are for Illumina whole genome sequencing?
That show what the trade offs are regarding quality, time and cost?

Just for whole genome sequencing, excluding targeted / reduced complexity sequencing.

        Strategies for Sequencing Challenging Samples
        by seqadmin

Despite advancements in sequencing platforms and related sample preparation technologies, certain sample types continue to present significant challenges that can compromise sequencing results. Pedro Echave, Senior Manager of the Global Business Segment at Revvity, explained that the success of a sequencing experiment ultimately depends on the amount and integrity of the nucleic acid template (RNA or DNA) obtained from a sample. “The better the quality of the nucleic acid isolated...
