Default Meaning of blue cloud in meanSdPlot() of DESEq

The attached figure showed the meanSdPlot() from DESEq.


What is the meaning of the bluish cloud at the background?
And how was it computed?

The plot that you have looks a lot like the plots on the top of page 13 of http://bioconductor.org/packages/rel...doc/DESeq2.pdf.
Would it make sense for there to be a heatmap on the meanSdPlot?
