Two Bioinformatics positions in Next Generation Sequencing analysis
Two Bioinformatics positions (Postdoc or PhD level) are available for initially 3 years with the possibility of extension at Hannover Medical School in Hannover, Germany starting in March 2012 or later. Salary will be according to the domestic TV-L tarif and dependent on experience.
The applicants will be working in the brand new Pediatric Research Center, established 2011, which includes a state of the art SOLiD 5500xl series genetic analyzer. Server based computational infrastructure and an additional 454 sequencer are already established.
Key aspect of the applicant's work will be the evaluation and analysis of next-generation sequencing data in various research projects conducted on site, including projects of the German Lung Centre and the Cluster of Excelllence REBIRTH, ranging from RNAseq and metagenomics to comparative resequencing of bacterial and human genomes. The Postdoc position will be closely associated with the SOLiD sequencer and include a strong research role within administered projects. The PhD position will involve computational analysis of human genome and trancriptome sequence data within a project hosted by the German Lung Centre section at the Medical School.

Some experience with Linux server administration
