  • Introductions

    Hi,

Lots of forums I read have a kind of general introduction section where users can introduce themselves, and perhaps say something about what they're doing, what they're interested in and where they're working on. Of course, plenty of people will not want to post there, but it can be useful in an online community that has members that are active and willing to participate and communicate - it just gives people an idea of who is around, and they're fields of expertise and experience.

    Cheers,

    Scott.

    Hey Scott,

    Great idea, done!

New here? Stop in and introduce yourself. Where you are, what you work on, etc.

      Hi NGS Friends!

      http://seqanswers.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif Greeting to all!http://seqanswers.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif
I am Sridhar. Just joined the Community.
I am a PhD in Computational Biology. Currently working on NGS data to study the genes associated with stress.
I am interested in finding new methods of mining information from NGS data. I am glad to join the community which has excellent discussions on the subject.

      Best,

        Hello everybody!

I'm Matteo from Italy. I'm a PhD in Medical Genetics and I'm working with Illumina GAIIe on RNAseq and Exome sequencing.

I'm looking for methods to analyse RNAseq data and I'm sure I'll find it here.

        Best Regards,

        Matteo

Essential Discoveries and Tools in Epitranscriptomics
          by seqadmin

The field of epigenetics has traditionally concentrated more on DNA and how changes like methylation and phosphorylation of histones impact gene expression and regulation. However, our increased understanding of RNA modifications and their importance in cellular processes has led to a rise in epitranscriptomics research. “Epitranscriptomics brings together the concepts of epigenetics and gene expression,” explained Adrien Leger, PhD, Principal Research Scientist...

          Current Approaches to Protein Sequencing
          by seqadmin

Proteins are often described as the workhorses of the cell, and identifying their sequences is key to understanding their role in biological processes and disease. Currently, the most common technique used to determine protein sequences is mass spectrometry. While still a valuable tool, mass spectrometry faces several limitations and requires a highly experienced scientist familiar with the equipment to operate it. Additionally, other proteomic methods, like affinity assays, are constrained...
