  • Software Developer, The Australian National University, AUSTRALIA

The ANU's genomic strategies and expertise has positioned it as a key partner in a number of national and international genomics / phenomics research consortia. The ANU is underpinning this excellence in genomic biology by establishing a Genome Discovery Unit (GDU) for the analysis of high throughput sequencing data. The facility will be staffed by highly skilled personnel who will provide the core expertise for constructing and operating a high performance computing environment and providing bioinformatic analysis to serve the needs of projects employing second generation sequencing.

We are seeking a software developer to work closely with bioinformaticians and other members of the GDU, to develop and implement software to process data for specific DNA sequencing applications including data transfer and management. The Software Developer will provide autonomous technical oversight to key areas of pipeline development.

    Salary Range: AUD$77,296 - $82, 857

Please note, applications are open to international applicants.

Recent Advances in Sequencing Analysis Tools
    by seqadmin

The sequencing world is rapidly changing due to declining costs, enhanced accuracies, and the advent of newer, cutting-edge instruments. Equally important to these developments are improvements in sequencing analysis, a process that converts vast amounts of raw data into a comprehensible and meaningful form. This complex task requires expertise and the right analysis tools. In this article, we highlight the progress and innovation in sequencing analysis by reviewing several of the...

Essential Discoveries and Tools in Epitranscriptomics
    by seqadmin

The field of epigenetics has traditionally concentrated more on DNA and how changes like methylation and phosphorylation of histones impact gene expression and regulation. However, our increased understanding of RNA modifications and their importance in cellular processes has led to a rise in epitranscriptomics research. “Epitranscriptomics brings together the concepts of epigenetics and gene expression,” explained Adrien Leger, PhD, Principal Research Scientist...
