  • Computational biologist, programming oriented

    The Center of Translational Genomics and Bioinformatics (CTGB) is seeking a motivated individual to reinforce the development team responsible for original analytical tools and platforms.

    The role will involve:
    • development of libraries and tools for the analysis of sequencing data
    • participation to lab meetings and scientific discussions
    • writing of relevant papers
    • dissemination of developed tools

    The ideal candidate will have a proven experience in programming in at least one of the following languages: Java, Python, Ruby. Knowledge of R/BioConductor environment will be considered a plus. Previous experience in management of data from Next Generation Platforms will also be considered as a relevant skill.

    The successful candidate will be self-motivated and capable of working both independently and within a closely interacting team of scientists.

    Good English, written and oral is absolutely required.

    Salary will be commensurate with experience (range 28,000 - 35,000 Euro gross). The appointment will be for one year and renewed yearly, depending on circumstances at the time of the review.

    CTGB is part of San Raffaele Hospital in Milan, Italy, one of the largest research hospitals in Europe. CTGB is a multidisciplinary group focused on analysis of genomics, transcriptomics and epigenomics of disease to achieve better diagnosis and cure.
