The ANU's genomic strategies and expertise has positioned it as a key partner in a number of national and international genomics / phenomics research consortia. The ANU is underpinning this excellence in genomic biology by establishing a Genome Discovery Unit (GDU) for the analysis of high throughput sequencing data. The facility will be staffed by highly skilled personnel who will provide the core expertise for constructing and operating a high performance computing environment and providing bioinformatic analysis to serve the needs of projects employing high throughput sequencing.
We are seeking a bioinformatician to join our growing bioinformatics team to conduct computational biology work on high throughput DNA sequencing data generated for GDU researchers and facility users. The successful applicant will contribute computational and bioinformatics expertise to agricultural, medical and environmental research projects. Work will include de-novo genome assembly, SNP detection, genome resequencing, epigenomic, transcriptomic and gene-network analysis.
Salary Range: AUD$77,296 - $82,857
Please note, applications are open to international applicants.
