Default wet lab Validation of a large number of SNPs

Hi
AFAIK
you can validate SNPs obtained by Hi-seq by
microarray,
Sanger Seq,
NGS seq on a different platform

Which are the more common / cost effective approach for a large number of SNPs?

Would using a platform that hasn't been thoroughly widely reported in literature or hasn't established working protocols within our lab yet (like Ion Torrent or Mi Seq) be a valid way of confirming SNPs? (feels like using an unknown to confirm an unknown)

Cheers
