  • clusters per tile to clusters mm2

    Hello,

Can someone tell me the conversion factor from cluster per tile to clusters per mm2. It would be very helpful.
    Thanks.

This varies dependent upon instrument and flow cell version. However currently for the GAIIx, flowcell v4 the size is 0.5437 mm^2 per tile.

Thanks for that. I'm trying to get a rough idea of the number of sequence reads so I know if we have enough after the 25bp PF stage.

The Sequence Analysis Viewer application reports run statistics during a run. It will directly report the number of PF reads per lane once the run reaches cycle 25 and this number will be calculated appropriately for the flow cell in use. This software is available as part of the SCS2.9_RTA1.9 package for the GAIIx. I believe (but am not positive) that it is included in all versions of the control software for the HiSeq.
