Hi
Is there an (easy, pre-canned) way to display exon numbering in the UCSC genome browser? Obviously exon/intron information is present in the various gene tracts (hence think/thin blocks and lines, directionality arrows) but it would be very nice to have some numbering on top of those exon blocks.... without counting from the end! And for that matter, it would be nice to see protein residue numbering too (at fine zoom in), as that info is obviously also present (or deduced) and displayed. Any clues would be most welcome. Thanks, -Ryan |

That bit at least is easy - each gene track (e.g. UCSC Genes) has a configuration page - just click the named link above the display mode selector for the track. Then select 'show codon numbering'.
