  • Ingenuity Systems hiring for Senior Unix Ops Engineer

    Responsibilities:

    Troubleshoot complex Unix/Linux issues in production, lab, and corporate environments

    Build deployment, management, monitoring and security systems using DevOps techniques

    Implement zero-downtime production pushes

    Secure/harden application systems against compromise

    Work closely with engineering to script and maintain release consistency across environments

    Requirements

    5-7 years of experience with UNIX/Linux system administration (Linux SUSE)

    Superior knowledge of Linux/Unix

    Advanced knowledge of TCP/IP and networking

    Experience in dynamic / interpreted programming languages (such as shell, Perl, Python)

    Familiarity with Tomcat 6 and above

    Security compliance history and mastery of Linux command line.

    Experience with securing public websites

    Willing to participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation

    Strong organization and documentation skills

    Ability to work independently with minimum supervision

    Strong knowledge in various systems disciplines (dns, ldap, smtp, ssh/ssl, ntp, package managers, tcp/ip internals, volume managers/filesystems, etc)

    Preferred:

    Familiarity with data transfer protocols – http(s), REST, SOAP, JSON

    Working knowledge of Java

    BS in Computer Science

    Experience with open source monitoring and alerting systems (hobbit/xymon, nagios, cacti, etc)

    Experience with VMware / Xen based server virtualization

    Experience with systems automation tools such as Puppet or Chef
