  • Post doctoral position, Yeast Genetics (Institut Pasteur)

    The Institut Pasteur is a private non-profit foundation which contributes to the prevention and treatment of disease, through research, education, and public health activities.
    Mission:
    A post doctoral position in bioinformatics is available at the Pasteur Institute (Paris, France) in the frame of a collaborative project funded by the french research agency (ANR). This project is involving three laboratories specialists in yeast genetics (G. Janbon, Aspergillus Unit, Institut Pasteur ; C. Neuvéglise, Institut Micalis, INRA) and in Next Generation Sequencing Technologies (Jean-Yves Coppée, Transcriptome and Epigenome Platform, Institut Pasteur). The aim of the project is to use next generation sequencing (NGS) for cataloguing and quantifying alternative splicing in yeasts.

    The successful applicant will be in charge of the development and use of methods for handling, analyzing, and interpreting NGS data in the context of this program.


    Duration: 30 months
    Start: June 2011
    Salary: depending on qualifications.

    Candidates profile:
    The candidate should have a strong experience in eukaryote genetics and, if possible in the analysis of transcriptomic data, as well as a deep interest in bioinformatics, including programming capabilities (JAVA, Perl, Python).
