  • BaseSpace: How do you run an app after the run is complete?

First time uploading to Basespace. Only generated FastQ's at first but now want to align it. There doesn't seem to be an option. Is it even possible?

Currently runs cannot be requeued for analysis, I have to rerun analysis using MiSeq reporter locally. You can also ask nicely and see if a dev will alter sample sheet for your chosen application and requeue analysis. I hope they allow rerunning analysis soon, if you have an error with your sample sheet you have to get Illumina devs to fix and restart analysis or have a forever "failed" run in BaseSpace.

Yep, that's what I figured. Not a huge deal but kind of annoying. The main point of BaseSpace is to be able to manipulate data in the cloud. I guess I can't get too angry because it is still in beta testing, and it looks like this kind of thing will be available when they roll out the app store ~ the end of Nov it seems.

      Thanks for the reply epistatic.

        Current Approaches to Protein Sequencing
        by seqadmin

Proteins are often described as the workhorses of the cell, and identifying their sequences is key to understanding their role in biological processes and disease. Currently, the most common technique used to determine protein sequences is mass spectrometry. While still a valuable tool, mass spectrometry faces several limitations and requires a highly experienced scientist familiar with the equipment to operate it. Additionally, other proteomic methods, like affinity assays, are constrained...

        Strategies for Sequencing Challenging Samples
        by seqadmin

Despite advancements in sequencing platforms and related sample preparation technologies, certain sample types continue to present significant challenges that can compromise sequencing results. Pedro Echave, Senior Manager of the Global Business Segment at Revvity, explained that the success of a sequencing experiment ultimately depends on the amount and integrity of the nucleic acid template (RNA or DNA) obtained from a sample. “The better the quality of the nucleic acid isolated...
