Job Description:
The Stanford University Department of Genetics is seeking to hire a full time Life Science Research Assistant in the laboratory of Dr. Jin Billy Li for at least 1-2 years. The newly founded Li lab focuses on studying RNA and DNA variations enabled by genomic technology development. This position provides a great opportunity to learn cutting-edge genomic techniques capitalized on next generation sequencing technologies.
Successful applicant must be able to manage molecular biology experiments independently after training. The Life Science Research Assistant will also assist with ordering and maintaining lab equipments and supplies.
Requirements:
BA or BS in biological sciences or related field required. The desire and ability to learn, and at least one year of laboratory experience are also required. The successful candidate must be efficient and organized, and have excellent communication and team-working skills. Some knowledge in next generation sequencing and/or computational data analysis is desired, but not required. The position requires a 1-2 year commitment.
