Regulatory Genomics Group, IMPPC, Spain
We are looking for a post-doctoral research fellow to work on a project funded by the Spanish Ministry of Science and Innovation. In our new lab we are interested in chromatin organization, gene regulation, and genome evolution. We have recently analyzed genome-scale datasets to study the packaging of the human genome in the male germline, dosage-sensitivity, the stability of genetic redundancy between duplicated genes and the function and evolution of highly conserved non-coding elements. The successful candidate will use available chromatin and functional genomic datasets to study the chromatin organization at regulatory regions in animal genomes. In addition, he/she will be encouraged to develop their own research ideas along the lines of the research interests of the group. Recent publications: Vavouri and Lehner. PLoS Genet. 2011. 7(4): e1002036. Vavouri and Lehner. Bioessays. 2009. 31(7):727-35. Vavouri et al. Cell. 2009. 138:198-208. The research at the institute combines basic and applied research in cancer and epigenetics. The IMPPC offers excellent working conditions in attractive surroundings. Applicants must have a PhD, excellent publication record, experience in genomics or bioinformatics and a drive for basic research. Knowledge of English is essential.
