  • Numbering of simultaneously started NovaSeq runs?

How are simultaneously started NovaSeq runs actually numbered?

First time we tried, the A-run was assigned with the lowest number. This would somehow be the logical way of numbering.

    190311_A00606_0038_BH7KCWDRXX

But next time, the B-run was given the lowest number
    190322_A00606_0040_BH7HWVDRXX
    190322_A00606_0041_AH7HY3DRXX

Anyone who know the logic behind numbering of simultaneously started NovaSeq runs?

Which ever side starts first likely grabs the next numeric number.

I have received the following clarifying reply from Illumina Techsupport:
"The run number assignment is sequential to which side actually starts first after the pre-run checks. Usually FCA will have the lower number but sometimes if something fails on the pre-run checks, the software will automatically retry the failed test which adds time and can result in the run starting later compared to the other side."

Essential Discoveries and Tools in Epitranscriptomics
        by seqadmin

The field of epigenetics has traditionally concentrated more on DNA and how changes like methylation and phosphorylation of histones impact gene expression and regulation. However, our increased understanding of RNA modifications and their importance in cellular processes has led to a rise in epitranscriptomics research. “Epitranscriptomics brings together the concepts of epigenetics and gene expression,” explained Adrien Leger, PhD, Principal Research Scientist on Modified Bases...

        Current Approaches to Protein Sequencing
        by seqadmin

Proteins are often described as the workhorses of the cell, and identifying their sequences is key to understanding their role in biological processes and disease. Currently, the most common technique used to determine protein sequences is mass spectrometry. While still a valuable tool, mass spectrometry faces several limitations and requires a highly experienced scientist familiar with the equipment to operate it. Additionally, other proteomic methods, like affinity assays, are constrained...
