We're pleased to announce the latest release(s) of BioBuilds, Lab7's collection of pre-built binaries for common bioinformatics tools.
BioBuilds includes binaries for over 30 tools on RedHat/Centos, Debian/Ubuntu, and OS X and supports x86 and IBM POWER CPUs.
Since our last post on SeqAnswers, we've continued to add new tools to BioBuilds over two releases. The February release (2015.02) added support for R/BioConductor*, Trinity, FASTA, and SHRiMP and the May (2015.04) release included vendor tools such as iSAAC and TMAP along with IGV, RNAStar, and SOAP tools.
If you're tired of maintaining your own builds or work in a production/clinical environment where a single source for tools helps with compliance, please check out BioBuilds.
We're happy to add more tools to the package, licenses permitting. Email us directly ([email protected]) or respond to this thread with requests and comments.

Thanks for your feedback and support!
*Yes, you read that right: fully functional binaries for R/BioConductor are included in BioBuilds.
