Using TruSeq adaptors for custom protocol?

We are currently using Illumina's TruSeq RNA Sample Prep Kit and are considering doing a homemade/custom protocol instead. We have tons of the TruSeq adaptors left over from the kits and we were wondering if we could use these adaptors with a homemade protocol. We would most likely use Phusion in the cDNA enrichment step if this makes a difference.

Any help or suggestions would be appreciated!

As long as you are adding them to double stranded DNA or cDNA that has been prepared with end repair and A tailing it should work.
