where can I find a basic but very comprehensive over view and comparison of all DNA sequencing protocols including sanger techniques and next generation sequencing?

Nowhere to my knowledge, but I'd also be interested in one. I wrote up a short, and not particularly detailed overview of the 3 next-gen sequencing technologies here: http://www.genographia.org/portal/to..._download/file if anyone here is interested in putting together a more comprehensive document I'd be happy to help if I can.

Go to www.nature.com/naturebiotechnology and search for the October 2008 issue, volume 26, number 10. Or find the paperback journal.
The Focus was on next gen sequencing with comparisons made to Sanger. It was very comprehensive and well written in my view with good illustrations. At the very least, I highly recommend adding this issue to your collection as it will quickly and definately answer many questions you may have.Last edited by seqgirl123; 02-21-2009, 02:53 PM.

comprehensive reviews
Any idea about a comprehensive review of front end sample enrichment? It seems every time I turn around there's another offering. I'm trying to compile a comprehensive list, since we haven't actually started doing this yet.
NimbleGen, Agilent, Fluidigm, Febit, RainDance....
Thanks

the sequence enrichment systems list would be very interesting and usefull for my lab. We are actually searching for the most usefull and cheap one for 454 resequencing (for a genotyping program). If anybody has a list / description or info about the previously mentioned ones: NimbleGen, Agilent, Fluidigm, Febit, RainDance....
please, share it w us!

Despite advancements in sequencing platforms and related sample preparation technologies, certain sample types continue to present significant challenges that can compromise sequencing results. Pedro Echave, Senior Manager of the Global Business Segment at Revvity, explained that the success of a sequencing experiment ultimately depends on the amount and integrity of the nucleic acid template (RNA or DNA) obtained from a sample. “The better the quality of the nucleic acid isolated...-
