  • Talented Product Development Scientist Needed - NuGEN Technologies

    NuGEN Technologies is looking for a talented molecular biologist to join our R&D team. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and participating in the development of innovative solutions for our genomics products portfolio.

    JOB TITLE: PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT SCIENTIST

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Work with a cross-functional team to define requirements, specifications and
    timelines for new product development
    • Work on co-development of products with strategic partners (as needed)
    • Design, execute and analyze experiments to demonstrate feasibility and determine optimal assay and process conditions; develop and validate experimental protocols
    • Work as part of a team to evaluate and qualify reagent resourcing, establish and validate tests to assess product performance, and transfer new products into
    manufacturing
    • Analyze and present data internally and to the outside scientific community
    • Develop, maintain, and continuously improve product development processes
    and protocols

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • PhD in Molecular Biology or related field or equivalent experience
    • 5+ years of industry experience commercializing products for life sciences applications
    • Strong experience with Next Generation Sequencing and related technologies required
    • Broad experience in standard molecular biology techniques including PCR, qPCR, and microarrays preferred
    • Experience with DOE

    • Highly motivated and enjoy working as part of a team
    • Analytical with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think creatively
    • Thorough and detail-oriented with good judgment in experimental design and analysis
    • Effective communication and organizational skills
    • Demonstrated ability to coach and mentor technical colleagues
