Any idea what these microscopic "eyeball" components are?

Eyeballs and critters

I think those are the 'zero-mode waveguide nanophotonic visualization chambers' that house the DNA polymerase where the real time sequencing takes place. "What are the critters attacking the "eyeballs"?" Your guess is as good as mine :0) I am not a microbiologist but maybe simple bacteria. They were in a "fresh" SMRT cell. Maybe someone else can identify them accurately by their appearance. Best Jason |
