i have downloaded several RNA-seq Data from NCBI SRA, such as SRR019978.fastq.
i want to know whether the raw data has been treated by trimming the adaptor sequence of the RNA-seq. if not, what should i do? and what is the adaptor sequence? thanks. |

I asked this question to the EBI SRA people, and I was told that both NCBI and EBI SRA apply a series of QC procedures before they store the sequences. If you see any noise in the data, like adaptors, please report back to them, because it shouldn't be there.
