The Max Planck Institute of Immunobiology and Epigenetics in Freiburg, Germany has an opening for a Postdoctoral Position in Bioinformatics for an initial period of two years with the possibility of extension.
The Bioinformatics Group is interested in epigenetic mechanisms and regulatory networks that control gene expression and cellular identity. We are collaborating very closely with leading research groups at the Institute, with a focus on the analysis of deep-sequencing projects. In our group you will be working within an interdisciplinary network and large consortia, such as the German Epigenom Program (DEEP) and the Collaborative Research Center “Medical Epigenetics” (MEDEP).
You will have immediate access to data from our in-house deep-sequencing facility (Illumina HiSeq-2500, MiSeq) and help our partners with experimental design, statistical analysis and the interpretation of genome-wide data.
Your tasks:
Your qualifications:
We are looking for motivated team players with strong communication skills and the desire to work in a dynamic environment. The successful applicants will have proven experience with deep-sequencing analysis (e.g. ChIP-seq), programming skills, and a solid background in statistical data analysis.
Candidates should submit their applications (including contact details of referees) to our home page: http://www3.ie-freiburg.mpg.de/jobs/
We offer:
Based within close vicinity to both France and Switzerland, our institute hosts a vibrant community of international researchers and many state-of-the-art facilities (e.g. a modern deep-sequencing unit and a powerful data center).
Salaries will be based on previous experience according to TVöD guidelines.
Application deadline:
15.10.2013
