    Bioinformatician wanted

A bright, energetic bioinformatician with superior computational skills is urgently needed in Dr. H. Phillip Koeffler's lab in National University of Singapore. Dr. Koeffler is a Professor of Medicine at Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine and Senior Principal Investigator at Cancer Science Institute of Singapore and Deputy Director (Research) at National University Cancer Institute of Singapore, NUHS. He is a distinguish prestigious scientist who is a member of >10 editorial boards for peer-reviewed journals, and has over 720 peer-reviewed scientific articles published in high impact journals such as Nature, science, Journal of Molecular and Cellular Biology, Journal of Clinical Investigation, and other. During his career, he has mentored about 200 post-docs and a similar number of students.

Currently, the Singapore H.Koeffler’s lab has approximately 10 post-docs and 4 Ph.D. students, each of whom is doing massively parallel sequencing of various tumors, RNA-Seq, Chip-Seq, RNA array as well as combing the bioinformatics literature for hot leads. He is looking for a bioinformatician with a Ph.D or master degree who is capable of analyzing the data generated by aforementioned techniques. A generous salary and benefits will be offered along with a promising career developing opportunity. Moreover, there is no doubt that the fresh bioinformatic blood will be extremely productive being a co-author on numerous manuscripts.

For those who are interested, please send an email with curriculum vitae to Professor Koeffler's email: [email protected]

Essential Discoveries and Tools in Epitranscriptomics
    by seqadmin

The field of epigenetics has traditionally concentrated more on DNA and how changes like methylation and phosphorylation of histones impact gene expression and regulation. However, our increased understanding of RNA modifications and their importance in cellular processes has led to a rise in epitranscriptomics research. “Epitranscriptomics brings together the concepts of epigenetics and gene expression,” explained Adrien Leger, PhD, Principal Research Scientist...
