  • 454 GS Junior for sale (complete system)

Complete 454 GS Junior NGS Sequencing System for sale

Great benchtop next-gen sequencer for Amplicon Sequencing or Whole Genome Sequencing of microbial organisms such as bacteria, fungi, or viruses. LIKE NEW. Only used 8 times. Yields ~35-40Mb of data in 10 hours, with the majority in the reads ranging 400-500 bp. No external ventilation needed, so it can be placed on almost any bench.

We are selling this instrument because it is too small for our purposes. It has worked great meeting all of the advertised benchmarks. However, we work with human samples rather than microbial samples and require more than 35Mb of sequence per run, and it is not economical for us to do multiple runs of the same sample.

    Includes
    -454 GS Junior Instrument
-BDD device for loading the PTP
-Accompanying powerful computer workstation, pre-installed with GUI-based GS Data Analysis Software. There is no need for command-line instructions or a costly high-end computing cluster. The GS Data Analysis Software package includes easy-to-use tools for assembly, mapping and variant detection. All softwares included.
GS De Novo Assembler for Point-and-click genome and transcriptome assembly
GS Reference Mapper for Automated variation detection for resequencing projects
GS Amplicon Variant Analyzer for High-sensitivity variation detection from amplicon-based samples

we also have the following accessories as well

    -Nimblegen Hybridization System 4
    Capacity - 4 slides Slide format Standard 1" x 3" (25.4mm x 76.2mm) glass microarray slide
Electrical requirements Power: 210W (heating) / 12W (mixing)
    Ambient Operating Temperature: 16.5 - 27.5°C
Incubation Temperature Range: Ambient to 65°C
    Temperature Control Precision: ± 1°C
Mixing parameters Four pre-programmed mix modes

    -Nimblegen Sequence Capture Elution System
The NimbleGen Elution System is used in conjunction with an Elution Chamber (provided separately with each NimbleGen Sequence Capture array) to facilitate the elution of enriched DNA from the surface of a NimbleGen Sequence Capture array following hybridization and washing procedures.

    -Innovatis CASY DT cell counter
The CASY® Cell Counter + Analyzer System Model DT determines cell and particle concentration in up to three different size ranges quickly and reliably. The basic results provided are:
    • Cell concentration
    • Cell viability
    • Cell debris
Electrical Current Exclusion (ECE®) is the only well- accepted method for the dye-free determination
of cell viability. Together with the short measurement time and the low sample volume, CASY®-Technology
offers a unique combination of features for quality control of cell cultures that makes it fast, easy to use,
    flexible and precise.

    -Qiagen Tissuelyser II
For medium- to high-throughput sample disruption for molecular analysis
    • Convenient and secure disruption process
    • Adapter sets optimized for high-throughput disruption
    • Wide range of accessories available
    • Reproducible results with difficult-to-lyse tissues
    • Front-end solution for QIAGEN automation
The TissueLyser II simultaneously disrupts multiple biological samples through high-speed shaking in plastic tubes with stainless steel, tungsten carbide, or glass beads. Using the appropriate adapter set, up to 48 or 192 samples can be processed at the same time. Alternatively, a grinding jar set can be used to process large samples. A range of beads, bead dispensers, and collection microtubes and caps are also available.
Also includes 2 adapters for 454 SV emulsion preparation and 2 adapters for 454 MV emulsion preparation.

    Strategies for Sequencing Challenging Samples
    by seqadmin

Despite advancements in sequencing platforms and related sample preparation technologies, certain sample types continue to present significant challenges that can compromise sequencing results. Pedro Echave, Senior Manager of the Global Business Segment at Revvity, explained that the success of a sequencing experiment ultimately depends on the amount and integrity of the nucleic acid template (RNA or DNA) obtained from a sample. “The better the quality of the nucleic acid isolated...
