Possible Database Manual Curation Project?

I am an final year undergraduate student majoring in Bioinformatics. As a cumulative assignment, I need to work on a Bioinformatics project for a year. Eventually, I need so get some meaningful results to present.

I was thinking about using open-access bioinformatic tools to analyze publicly available data in databases. I know that this is very vague, I'm sorry.

Suggestions to help me pick a topic to pursue/ project to work on would greatly be appreciated!!!
