  • Fragment length for expression estimation

    I have sequenced using Illumina and quantified with Salmon. I have run some QC plots and have what looks like a spurious sample (see attached)


    I have to justify to my boss why I am dropping this sample but I'm struggling to find out exactly what the fragment length distribution tells us. My understanding is that is something to do with adjusting for biases when you estimate abundance but I need to be able to fully explain it. Can someone help?
