What does mean 2 x 35 or 2 x 100 in illumina solexa?

i am continuing my research on Next generation Sequencing. I have taken different papers about it, and different kind of information on illumina web site, but i don't understand what means the following table
Read lenght Run Time # of reads
1x35 bp 2 days 90-100 M
2x35 bp 4 days 180-200 M
