Hi all, newbie LCM-RNAseq user here

I am interested in finding out the best methods to sequence RNA from laser capture micro dissected (LCM) mouse brain tissue. I will have low quantity (1-10ng total RNA) and low quality (RIN 7). So far it looks like using rRNA depleted mRNA (LCM damages the polyA tail) with the SMARTer stranded RNA-seq kit (uses random priming and incorporates illumina adapters and indexes in flow) is the most suitable so far. We are looking to detect individual transcripts, so input on depth is appreciated too. Let me know if you have any expertise in any of these areas!
