Default qPCR instead of titration?

Does anyone have experience using qPCR and Poisson statistics instead of titrations? I discovered these papers the other day, and it sounds like something that might work well for our purposes. We have a small staff, so if we could avoid tedious titrations it would be a huge benefit.
Thanks!!
