Default Does GATK only work for human species?

GATK can't work with reference genome provided by other web site ,but GATK only have given human reference geonome. So,does GATK only work for human species?

thanks!

It works fine for other species. I use it mostly in mice, though it's certainly easier to do some things in humans due to the existence of the 1000 genomes project.
