  • Used bioanalyzer (no software)-Worth it?

There's a 2100 bioanalyzer being auctioned by the surplus dpt in my university. It powers on, and has the electrode cartridge but does not come with the laptop/software license (or serial cable or vortex or priming station).
Is it worth bidding on it? It's going for around $600 now. But if the licenses are not for sale without the machine, or the rest of the equipment is absolutely necessary, i won't bother.
    Thanks!

Both serial (or serial to usb) cable, priming station, and vortexer/vortex adapter is available as spare parts but will cost a lot more than $600. I don't know if you can get a license separately, However, if you can figure out who originally bought the instrument you might try to get them to contact Agilent and see if there's anyway to recover the license keys.

      Strategies for Sequencing Challenging Samples
      by seqadmin

Despite advancements in sequencing platforms and related sample preparation technologies, certain sample types continue to present significant challenges that can compromise sequencing results. Pedro Echave, Senior Manager of the Global Business Segment at Revvity, explained that the success of a sequencing experiment ultimately depends on the amount and integrity of the nucleic acid template (RNA or DNA) obtained from a sample. “The better the quality of the nucleic acid isolated...
