  • Enrichment with AGILENT's Sureselect target enrichment system

I was wondering if anybody has ever tried to enrich a dna sample for target re-sequencing with a 454 using Agilent's liquid enrichment system (now officially available just for Illumina and Solid).
We are trying alternative enrichment methods to target a 100kb-1Mb sequence for many samples.
Nimblegen looks like has copied Agilent's approach for the enrichment with its new SeqCap EZ exome but it seems to be really expensive expecially because I ve been told there's a minimum of ~50 reaction kit to buy.. and first of all the kit is only available for the exome enrichement and not for custom design.
We are trying with Combimatrix, but the cheap kit from agilent could be another good product to try.

SureSelect followed by 454 sequencing will be possible end of Februari 2010 (the earliest)

      Strategies for Sequencing Challenging Samples
      by seqadmin

Despite advancements in sequencing platforms and related sample preparation technologies, certain sample types continue to present significant challenges that can compromise sequencing results. Pedro Echave, Senior Manager of the Global Business Segment at Revvity, explained that the success of a sequencing experiment ultimately depends on the amount and integrity of the nucleic acid template (RNA or DNA) obtained from a sample. “The better the quality of the nucleic acid isolated...
