Default Do we need two DIFFERENT adapters to generate Pair-end Reads ?

Hi All,

I am wondering: Must we have at least two Different adapters to generate Pair-end Reads(Take Illumina Platform for example) ?

Yes, but the two different adaptor sequences have a common end that is annealed to create a single Y-adaptor which is ligated to both ends of the insert.
