  • Bioinformatics Scientist

    This position is responsible for the design and implementation of sequencing analysis pipelines at Progenity.

    This list of duties and responsibilities is not all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities, as management may deem necessary from time to time.
    •Develop tools for automating DNA sequence analysis and sequence data quality reporting.
    •Perform analysis of sequencing data to improve assay quality
    •Perform appropriate documentation and testing.
    •Support multiple-site operation.

    Education
    •Bachelor’s Degree required
    •M.S. / Ph.D. in Bioinformatics, Computer Science, or related quantitative field

    Work Experience
    •Extensive experience in statistical, mathematical and bioinformatics data analysis.

    Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
    •Strong background in software development on Linux system.
    •High programming proficiency in a scripting language such as Perl or Python, and a compiled language such as C, C#, C++, or Java.
    •Strong communication skills.
    •Must be able to handle a wide work variety and work in a fast paced environment.
    •Must be a detail-oriented, organized, self-starter, and have an ability to prioritize workload.
    •Ability to analyze and interpret data and solve practical problems.
