  • Solid sequence service in europe

I need to sequence whole chloroplast genomes, and I am aiming to do it with SOLiD technology, I have few question about it: how pure must it be the DNA (I can make a extraction of DNA enriched of chloroplasts DNA, but I will never get rid of the nuclear contamination) and is there in Europe (possibly in scandinavia or in the nearby) anyone who gives this service? And how much does it cost?
    Thanks in advance

    Hi,

if you have not found out already, this is the place to go: http://www.metagenomics.se/?Contact_us

Will be upgraded to v3.0 in a few weeks. Regarding how pure it has to be, I guess it depends on how deep you want to sequence.

      thank you

Thank you very much , now I sent a sample to a sequencing service using 454, if everything goes well I won't need it anymore, otherwise I will contact them...

Essential Discoveries and Tools in Epitranscriptomics
        by seqadmin

The field of epigenetics has traditionally concentrated more on DNA and how changes like methylation and phosphorylation of histones impact gene expression and regulation. However, our increased understanding of RNA modifications and their importance in cellular processes has led to a rise in epitranscriptomics research. “Epitranscriptomics brings together the concepts of epigenetics and gene expression,” explained Adrien Leger, PhD, Principal Research Scientist on Modified Bases...

        Current Approaches to Protein Sequencing
        by seqadmin

Proteins are often described as the workhorses of the cell, and identifying their sequences is key to understanding their role in biological processes and disease. Currently, the most common technique used to determine protein sequences is mass spectrometry. While still a valuable tool, mass spectrometry faces several limitations and requires a highly experienced scientist familiar with the equipment to operate it. Additionally, other proteomic methods, like affinity assays, are constrained...
