Smile Short and Long Reads

hello,
I have some questions please.

What is the difference between short and long read?

What are the comparative advantages of each?

Which one of them is used now-a-days for sequence assembly?

Which one is preferred for future from both the computational and analytical point of view?

thank you for your answers

If you google 'Sanger sequencing', and 'DNA sequencing' that should give you at least the following Wikipedia pages, which would be a good start.
