Default 16 bit image

Looking for a tool or script that can recover an 16-bit image and save both colors. Thanks .

Irfanview can open 16-bit TIFF files but your other post indicated that it only saved one channel(?).

GIMP: http://www.gimp.org/downloads/ may be an option.

Then there is photoshop (and perhaps photoshop elements) but they are not free.

http://rawtherapee.com/

Seems to be another option. It mentions being able to write 16-bit TIFF files.
