  • NGS 2015 Nordic: Clinical & Research Genomics

Registration is now open for the second annual NGS 2015 Nordic Conference which will take place at the Medicon Village (Lund, Sweden) on 27th & 28th October 2015.

This conference is in partnership with the Lund University Cancer Centre and the local scientific committee includes Dr Anders Kvist and Dr Klaus Brusgaard (Odense University Hospital). The scientific theme will focus on the use of NGS in Clinical Diagnostic labs and in University Research genomic labs to elucidate Human Disease/Health. We have some great speakers from Denmark, Norway, Sweden and other speakers have been invited from Finland.

We would like you to join us at this conference to hear about:
    • NGS Applications
    • NGS Bottlenecks
    • NGS Data Analysis
    • NGS in Rare Disease & Cancer
    • Metagenomics

Learn about the advances and topical issues being addressed in the Nordic region and get a chance to meet speakers and other delegates over dedicated networking sessions. On the evening of day one there will also be a 3-course networking dinner.

    SPEAKERS:
Prof Åke Borg, Head of Canceromics, Lund University
Dr Mattias Mild, Head of Unit, Public Health Agency of Sweden
Prof Sicheritz-Ponten Thomas, Head of Metagenomics, Technical University of Denmark
Dr Valtteri Wirta, SciLifeLab, Karolinska Institute
Prof Anne-Lise Børresen-Dale, Genetics and Institute for Cancer Research, Oslo
Prof Albin Sandelin, Computational and RNA Biology, Copenhagen University
Dr Johan Rung, Scilifelab, Uppsala University
    and more...

Recent Advances in Sequencing Analysis Tools
    by seqadmin

The sequencing world is rapidly changing due to declining costs, enhanced accuracies, and the advent of newer, cutting-edge instruments. Equally important to these developments are improvements in sequencing analysis, a process that converts vast amounts of raw data into a comprehensible and meaningful form. This complex task requires expertise and the right analysis tools. In this article, we highlight the progress and innovation in sequencing analysis by reviewing several of the...

Essential Discoveries and Tools in Epitranscriptomics
    by seqadmin

The field of epigenetics has traditionally concentrated more on DNA and how changes like methylation and phosphorylation of histones impact gene expression and regulation. However, our increased understanding of RNA modifications and their importance in cellular processes has led to a rise in epitranscriptomics research. “Epitranscriptomics brings together the concepts of epigenetics and gene expression,” explained Adrien Leger, PhD, Principal Research Scientist...
