  • how to become a reviewer for Bioinformatics journals?

I would really like to offer peer-reviewing for the Bioinformatics/computational biology/cancer research journal or conferences. Anyone here have suggestions on how to become a reviewer for such journals?

    Appreciate your help. Thank you

Aside from people listing you as a suggested reviewer when submitting a paper, you could shoot an email to the editor and introduce yourself (mention the specific areas you can reasonably be a reviewer for).

Alternatively, submitting a paper to a journal seems to get you added to their "potential reviewer" pool (this is completely understandable, of course).

You could also just do reviews on random F1000 research papers. The authors will appreciate it (because it means one less reviewer needed for indexing), and it will boost publicity around your suitability as a reviewer in other journals.

Thanks for this recommendation. It seems like a good opportunity to start reviewing manuscripts, since you can select one specific for your knowledge.

However, I haven't heard about this publishing platform before. But I will check it out.

Recent Advances in Sequencing Analysis Tools
          by seqadmin

The sequencing world is rapidly changing due to declining costs, enhanced accuracies, and the advent of newer, cutting-edge instruments. Equally important to these developments are improvements in sequencing analysis, a process that converts vast amounts of raw data into a comprehensible and meaningful form. This complex task requires expertise and the right analysis tools. In this article, we highlight the progress and innovation in sequencing analysis by reviewing several of the...

Essential Discoveries and Tools in Epitranscriptomics
          by seqadmin

The field of epigenetics has traditionally concentrated more on DNA and how changes like methylation and phosphorylation of histones impact gene expression and regulation. However, our increased understanding of RNA modifications and their importance in cellular processes has led to a rise in epitranscriptomics research. “Epitranscriptomics brings together the concepts of epigenetics and gene expression,” explained Adrien Leger, PhD, Principal Research Scientist...
