How to use short reads to find transcripts and non-coding RNA

I have some short reads of human.I wanted to use them to find transcripts and non-coding RNA,but I was just study bioinformatics and knew little about this field.Could you give me some suggestions on what kinds of software should I use and how to analyse these short reads?Thank you very much.
